The Excitement of the Sea and Fresh Water Diving
Join us at ScubaFest on Saturday, March 17th from 9 AM until Noon and 1 PM to 3 PM or on Sunday, March 18th from 1 PM to 3 PM for a Discover Scuba session. The sessions are free-of-charge and no appointment is necessary.
Discover Scuba participants must be at least 10 years old. For children ages 8 and 9, the session will follow the PADI Bubblemaker guidelines. This will allow the younger child to use child-sized scuba gear in water no deeper than six feet. A parent or legal guardian must be at poolside during the pool portion of the Bubblemaker sessions.
A Discover Scuba session (about an hour in length) is an opportunity to get a “snapshot” experience of scuba diving. Roger Duff, a PADI instructor with 20 years of teaching experience, and other Scuba professionals from Aquatic Adventures Ohio will lead you through a short presentation about scuba, assist you in donning the gear and lead you into the underwater world in the hotel pool. The sessions are designed to be informative, safe and FUN!
All diver participants require a medical release form (includes physician form, if needed) to be completed prior to the session and parents of children ages 17 and younger must sign the liability release before their child may participate. Bubblemakers must also fill out a Bubblemakers Statement. We suggest you download and complete the medical release form before arriving at the pool so, if a physician’s approval is necessary, you will have time to have it completed.
There is no charge for the experience. Aquatic Adventures Ohio, a full-service aquatic and scuba training center in Hilliard, Ohio, is providing all the gear and tanks, plus the instructors and divemasters are donating their time.
All you need to bring is your swimsuit, a towel and your completed Medical Release Form or Bubblemaker Statement. Also, feel free to bring friends and relatives to participate or watch.
If you have any questions, contact Roger Duff via e-mail at DiscoverScuba@ScubaFest.org.
