ScubaFest Events
ScubaFest promises an exciting weekend with a wide variety of events to keep everyone busy and informed.
The show kicks off Friday evening with a meet-n-greet with our keynote speaker, Ralph Wilbanks. Following are two special presentations by Mike Brittsan from the Columbus Zoo Aquarium and Ralph Wilbanks.
The finale will be the unveiling of the ScubaFest Photo Contest entries. Participants will be the first to view and vote on the People's Choice Award.
Show Events
Exhibitors ~~ The Exhibitors include manufacturers, dive shops, travel, art, education & avocational groups and collectibles.
Presenters ~~ The Presenters will provide exciting and educational topics such as shipwrecks, travel destinations & trip planning, technical diving, public safety diving, medical safety, diving safety, history, training and equipment information. There will be three presentations scheduled each hour from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturday and 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Sunday, plus the kick-off presentations Friday evening.
Workshops ~~ Workshops are extra-fare items that run from 2 - 8 hours. We are featuring Great Lakes Shipwreck Photography, Underwater Videography featuring pool practice and video cameras (for those who do not own one), Underwater Archaeology, Photoshop - The Basics and Beyond, Visual Cylinder Inspector (and Refresher), Eddy Current Service Technician and the Interspiro Technician Program.
Photo Contest ~~ Dig out your photos and Hit Us With Your Best Shot. The 2009 contest received 161 photos in our inaugural year. We have five catagories, with a potential of three prizes each, plus the Grand Prize winner and the People's Choice Award.
Discover Scuba ~~ Have you always wanted to try scuba diving. Pack your swim suit and towel and come to the pool at the Crowne Plaza North. To expedite your experience, download the forms and bring them with you.
Banquet ~~ Join us for the banquet on Saturday evening and enjoy our program featuring our keynote speaker Ralph Wilbanks and several other exciting activities.
Auction ~~ The silent auction will include scuba gear, dive & travel packages, memorabilia, collectibles, books & DVDs, dive bags and other miscellaneous items.
Hospitality Room ~~ Our registered guests are invited for drinks and snacks.
Casino Night & Dancing ~~ Following the banquet, you are invited to the special event featuring dancing and casino game activities.
Attendees ~~ Our registered guests can register for the day, the weekend or the full weekend with banquet. ~~You may also register as a volunteer and receive the full weekend package at a reduced rate. Walk-ins who do not register will only have access to the exhibitors.
