Bali is a safe and picturesque island in Indonesia. The island’s cultural history is readily apparent to all who visit. As a diving vacation, Bali can be the best of both worlds. This is an area of beautiful blue water, abundant coral and big animals like Mantas, sharks, turtles and Mola Mola. Most of the dives are walls or slopes that contain abundant soft corals, hard corals, sea fans and sponges. One of the dive sites is a WWII Liberty Ship that is festooned with the bountiful growth of the sea.
In the presentation, I will share images of the outstanding wide angle reefs and sea life as well as the following: birthing of a shark, fire urchins with zebra crabs and colemen shrimp, Mantas, clownfish, butterflyfish, angelfish, Mantas, a variety of shrimp, crabs and lobster, numerous nudibranchs and hundreds of species of fish and did I mention Mantas???? On one dive site, a manta cleaning station, we had 10 individual mantas that just kept coming and coming.

The island of Lombok is located east of Bali. The island offers an array of tropical beaches, a volcano and many cultural and spiritual sites. The diving is actually done around three small islands off the north west tip of the island. Gili Trawangan is the island where the resort is located. Gili Trawangan is an excellent destination for those seeking total relaxation, excellent diving and white sandy beaches. The diving is done from a modified style of traditional fishing boat and they offer good gear storage, a roof over your head and a comfortable ride to the beautiful blue water dive sites. The sites consist of drop-offs, slopes, wrecks and benefit from the tremendously rich bio-diversity that Indonesia is known for.
